I wanted a band called The Fangs early on.

I wanted a band called The Fangs early on, because its a sharp name, but that name was taken. After we were writing a lot about American culture and poking fun at it most of the time.

So let’s just do American Fangs. Sometimes, I really don’t like the band name! The industry has that type of plan for us; we don’t. The music will always be written. The music industry can figure out where they want to go and what they want to exploit next, but musicians keep writing.

That fuels the fire. It is organic in that respect. We touch on a lot of different styles and that gives us a broader range to work with. We’re always gonna have that fancies - is rock music only for old people now? The faces we see at our shows rang from you to old.

He's the longest-standing member.

He's the longest-standing member. We've gone through so much with him. He holds it down, drum-wise. I don't know another technically consistent drummer other than this dude!

He’s like fucking [American TV secret agent] MacGyver.

Kyle is the tallest member of the band. On top of his bass-playing skills, he’s always doing something - he’s like fucking [American TV secret agent] MacGyver. He’s always working on building websites and shit!

He’s never in a bad mood, ever!

Kenyon’s a long time friend; all these guys are longtime friends. But Kenyon is the sensitive bird. And again, another songwriter. He’s always got the good humor - he’s never in a bad mood, ever!

He’s also one of the biggest talents that we have in the band.

Chris is the peculiar bird of the group. He’s also one of the biggest talents that we have in the band. It’s very cool to work with a guy who is also a producer, and also a songwriter himself.
